Manhattan at Conrad Singapore Orchard spotlights contemporary American cocktail culture through its upcoming Friends of Manhattan series with a one-night-only takeover by Happy Accidents Bar (No. 88, North America’s 50 Best Bars 2025) and Shinjis Bar (No. 90). Representing two distinct expressions of modern mixology, the evening brings together Happy Accidents—led by bar-owner Kate Gerwin, a James Beard semi-finalist and global bartending champion—known for its award-winning craft and innovative techniques, alongside Shinji’s, helmed by head bartender Gerald Cullhai, whose highly technical and inventive cocktails are served with a touch of nostalgia, defined by precision, layered flavours and sensory detail. Together, the two bars celebrate the creativity, skill and diversity shaping the cutting edge of American cocktail culture.
Guests can look forward to a selection of signature cocktails, including Shinji’s Donnie’s Element, a nuanced blend of The Macallan 12 Year Scotch Whisky, coffee liqueur, hazelnut, poppyseed orgeat and chinotto; Happy Accidents’ Needle and Thread, combining No. 3 Organic London Dry Gin with Madeira, soursop, lemongrass and pine; and Manhattan’s own Where the Boys Are, featuring Código Blanco Tequila, Siete Misterios Doba Yej Mezcal, melon, plum, blackberry and citrus. Food remains intrinsic to the Manhattan experience, with seasonal dishes joining its repertoire of favourites—summer arrives as a bright Lobster Taco wrapped in crisp wonton, while autumn brings nostalgic warmth in an amber-hued Burmese curry of roasted cauliflower, burrata and toasted pepitas, inspired by New York City’s richly multicultural palate.
