Next up is the Braised Whole Abalone with Sea Cucumber, Moss & Mushroom and the Braised Alaskan King Crab in Superior Stock.

Hathaway in Dempsey Hill offers a relaxing and comfortable setting to impress your date or to have a meal with your family and friends. Hathaway in old English means someone who lives by a path across a heath and the word describes the location and name of the restaurant.

It has a gorgeous white and brass interior which focuses on modern Asian cuisine with a local influence. The plating for their dishes are exquisite and visually appealing. For the appetizers, we started with the Langoustine Tartare and Seared Scallops Genmaicha Pea Puree.

The Ah Nya’s Fish Curry is a heirloom recipe that belongs to the grandmother of one of the owners. The Lamb & Bone Marrow is another main that impresses. It consists of Harissa Rack of Lamb , Glazed Bone Marrow with Herbed Crumb and Apple Celeriac Slaw with Zaatar Labneh drenched in Sup Tulang Sauce. The Nasi Ulam will complement both items well.

The Sher Wagyu Tenderloin is similar to a deconstructed “Beef Noodles” that is made up of Chargrilled Sher Wagyu Tenderloin 200g paired with Beansprouts & Pickled Mustard, Kway Teow Chip served in Bone Broth with Tendon & Tripe which you can enhance its flavor with Cincalok Chilli.

The creative concoctions of their mocktails GRAPEFRUIT (Grapefruit Juice & Tonic, Espresso, Seedlip Spice 94) and BASIL & WATERMELON (Basil & Watermelon Shrub, Apple Cider Vinegar, Seedlip Garden 108) stand out for me.

Lastly, the desserts here are a must have. The Queen’s Conserve is a combination of Kouign Amann, Lavendar Ice Cream and Passionfruit Curd and it is the highlight of the sweet treats. We would also recommend the Peranakan-inspired Seri Muka to complete your meal.

We started with the Grilled Seafood Platter consisting of Tiger Prawn Casserole, Mud Crab Cake, Smoked Salmon Trout, Celeriac Remoulade, Herb Butter and Kohlrabi Pickles. The Mud Crab Cake stands out for me as they are delightfully crispy on the outside while the filling within is flavorful and addictive.

Next we had the Grilled Meat Platter that is made up of an assortment of meats and vegetables which are the Spring Chicken, Anise Rub Angus Beef Rib-eye, Pork Loin, Potato Mousseline, Sautéed Field Mushroom, Roasted Parsnips and Balsamic Chicory. The meltingly tender beef with a band of pink in the middle will appeal to the meat lovers. One can have their choice of sauce from Mushroom Pepper sauce, Mustard sauce, BBQ sauce, Horseradish Sour Cream and Cranberry sauce.

We ended off with their Dessert Platter that brings out the festive mood with its colors. The Santa’s Strawberry Melba, Cocoa Nib Whipped Ganache, Wild Strawberry Sorbet, Minted Berries and the delicate Coconut Biscuit complete the visually appealing dish. Go on a gastronomic journey to the East and West at SE7ENTH in Oakwood Premier AMTD Singapore. Acting Executive Chef Gary Lim has designed a refreshed ala carte menu consisting of eight new mains.

We started with their Signature Crispy Chicken Wings with Truffle Maple Drizzle. Then this was followed by the mouthwatering Wagyu Katsu sandwich featuring tender breaded Wagyu striploin steak medium done and sandwiched between grilled brioche. Next was the Alaskan King Crab Seafood Platter with Truffle Risotto that consists of king crab legs, mussels and prawns baked in garlic and herbs and served with a lush bowl of truffle risotto topped with crab meat.

Another one that catches the eye is the Oakwood Premier Nasi Lemak, an elevated Asian delight of sambal king river prawns, mussels, crispy turmeric chicken, fried egg and fragrant coconut milk-infused rice. Acting Executive Chef Gary Lim has also come up with his own rendition of a locals’ favorite, the Mala Xiang Guo that is prepared using his special recipe of blended Sichuan peppercorn, chili, garlic and shallots. Fans of this dish will relish the likes of prawns, scallops, black mussels, squid, quail eggs and noodles in it.

Cugini is a traditional Italian gastronomy in a trattoria setting that is located at Club Street previously. They have just relocated to their new location at Joo Chiat.

Known for their white and turquoise interior, the restaurant offers authentic and delectable Italian cuisine. We started with their appetizer Antipasto Misto that comprises of Italian Cold Cuts & Cheeses, Grilled Vegetables and Pizza Bread. Then we had the Fegato Grasso which is made up of foie gras on sesame brioche paired with Passito wine reduction, mango salad and pistachio crumbs.

Mains are next and we had the Solepomodoro pizza made up of mozzarella, Italian roasted ham, artichoke, hard boiled egg and salami. We also had the Homemade Fetuccina Al Nero prepared with Squid Ink Fetuccine, Baby Squid, Peas and Sardinian Mullet Roe.

One of the signature dishes is the vegan friendly Homemade Raviolo Al Tartufo made with Black Winter Truffle & Potato, Parmesan, Walnuts and Truffle Butter Sauce. There are two options for Mixed Platter which can be either meat or seafood. The meat option here consists of Rib-Eye Steak, Italian Sausages, Lamb Chop, Secreto Iberico and Grilled Vegetables Caponata.

There is an extensive selection of wine and cocktails as well to go with the meal and we end off with the classic Tiramisu, Lemon Tartlet and Panna Cotta.
