Go on a gastronomic journey to the East and West at SE7ENTH in Oakwood Premier AMTD Singapore. Acting Executive Chef Gary Lim has designed a refreshed ala carte menu consisting of eight new mains.

We started with their Signature Crispy Chicken Wings with Truffle Maple Drizzle. Then this was followed by the mouthwatering Wagyu Katsu sandwich featuring tender breaded Wagyu striploin steak medium done and sandwiched between grilled brioche. Next was the Alaskan King Crab Seafood Platter with Truffle Risotto that consists of king crab legs, mussels and prawns baked in garlic and herbs and served with a lush bowl of truffle risotto topped with crab meat.

Another one that catches the eye is the Oakwood Premier Nasi Lemak, an elevated Asian delight of sambal king river prawns, mussels, crispy turmeric chicken, fried egg and fragrant coconut milk-infused rice. Acting Executive Chef Gary Lim has also come up with his own rendition of a locals’ favorite, the Mala Xiang Guo that is prepared using his special recipe of blended Sichuan peppercorn, chili, garlic and shallots. Fans of this dish will relish the likes of prawns, scallops, black mussels, squid, quail eggs and noodles in it.

Cugini is a traditional Italian gastronomy in a trattoria setting that is located at Club Street previously. They have just relocated to their new location at Joo Chiat.

Known for their white and turquoise interior, the restaurant offers authentic and delectable Italian cuisine. We started with their appetizer Antipasto Misto that comprises of Italian Cold Cuts & Cheeses, Grilled Vegetables and Pizza Bread. Then we had the Fegato Grasso which is made up of foie gras on sesame brioche paired with Passito wine reduction, mango salad and pistachio crumbs.

Mains are next and we had the Solepomodoro pizza made up of mozzarella, Italian roasted ham, artichoke, hard boiled egg and salami. We also had the Homemade Fetuccina Al Nero prepared with Squid Ink Fetuccine, Baby Squid, Peas and Sardinian Mullet Roe.

One of the signature dishes is the vegan friendly Homemade Raviolo Al Tartufo made with Black Winter Truffle & Potato, Parmesan, Walnuts and Truffle Butter Sauce. There are two options for Mixed Platter which can be either meat or seafood. The meat option here consists of Rib-Eye Steak, Italian Sausages, Lamb Chop, Secreto Iberico and Grilled Vegetables Caponata.

There is an extensive selection of wine and cocktails as well to go with the meal and we end off with the classic Tiramisu, Lemon Tartlet and Panna Cotta.

Savor the seasonal Hairy Crab at Yans Dining, 在嬿青私房菜品尝大闸蟹

Yans Dining at Mandarin Gallery offers exquisite and authentic Shanghainese cuisine. We had the opportunity to savour their seasonal Hairy Crab which is part of their Hairy Crab set menu that is going for $138.00 ++ per pax for one crab and $198.00++ per pax for two crabs.

For Appetisers, we had the Pickled Cucumber Skin Roll and Shanghai Drunken Chicken. Soup was the robust Yellow Croaker Fish Soup with Snow Cabbage. This is followed by the Old Shanghai Smoked Fish and Crabmeat with Bean Curd.

The Braised Pork Belly in the Claypot was one of my favourites as one can place the juicy pork belly in the fluffy white bun and savour the combination. We also had the Pan-Fried Bun which is hot and crispy on the outside while the minced meat within is flavorful.

The Hairy Crab is prized for its succulent sweet flesh and rich, creamy roe. It is pretty complex to deshell the crab and thankfully the staff helped us with it. The hairy crab has a cooling effect on the body and is recommended to pair with wine. Finally we end the meal with the toothsome Glutinous Dumplings in Osmanthus Wine.

The marbled meat are of premium quality and their smoky aroma is incredibly enticing after they are grilled. At just $48.00++ per set for lunch, this is extremely priceworthy and meat lovers should not miss out on this.

Meat lovers in the west are in for a feast as Collin’s has opened their latest outlet at Jurong Point . The recommended starters are the Truffle Mushroom Soup, Button Shroom Escargot and King Salmon Nicoise Salad.

For the mains, the magnificent 45 Days Dry Aged Black Angus Tomahawk is the showstopper while one will also be impressed with the tenderness of the 35 Days Whisky Dry Aged Black Angus Ribeye and the mouthwatering Collin’s Mixed Grill consisting of Chicken Chop, Summer Kabana Pork Sausage and Pork Chop.

Known as the “Wagyu” of Chicken, the Roasted Benja Chicken is the World’s First Brown Rice Fed Chicken and its tenderness will leave you in awe. The Valrhona Chocolate Lava Fondant offers a sweet end to the meal after all the savory treats.
